Comparex South Africa, a leading software service provider, has announced the availability of the Paessler PRTG Network Monitor. The new single page application (SPA) architecture is based on HTML5 to create a faster Web experience, while allowing network administrators to view and digest more information on a single page.
General Manager Comparex South Africa, Annette M"uller, says: "The use of HTML5, PRTG Network Monitor offers an improved user interface. Data presentation is cleaner and easier to understand, with more overall functionality and fewer clicks needed. The improved design allows both the sensor and device pages to offer more information at a single glance.
"To further improve workflow for network administrators, tasks now take place in pop-up layers within the browser, instead of loading new pages, enabling network administrators to easily focus on the task at hand. Users can change the priority and favourite status of objects with just one click. PTRG's new Web interface will rarely load complete pages; instead, page elements will only refresh when necessary."
Dirk Paessler, Founder and CEO at Paessler, adds: "Administrators are busier than ever - which means their critical applications must provide information quickly and intuitively. We believe the new version of PRTG Network Monitor will satisfy our users' most demanding requirements. The power, speed, clarity and utility of our new updated version will allow administrators to stay on top of every aspect of system performance."
Also included in the update is a new heuristic calculation, which identifies sensors that show similar behaviour, helping the user find interconnections in the network. For example, port X on router A has similar bandwidth consumption compared to port Y on server B, but the admin wasn't aware of a connection at all. This knowledge can lead to better planning of network resources and help the network administrator to detect unexpected influences and interactions between systems, which could be the result of security leaks.
