Comparex Africa Mainstream, the financial systems specialist, has launched two new Web-enabled enterprise interoperability applications, GEAC`s Active Access Requisition 3.0 and Benefits Open Enrollment Release 1.0 for SmartStream.
"The new releases have been developed in response to customer demand for leveraged functionality and interoperability of their existing enterprise applications beyond the walls of their enterprises," says Clive van Rooyen, principal systems developer at Comparex Mainstream.
"These new Active Access applications will provide our SmartStream customers with full Web access functionality on both an intranet and Internet level, allowing them to take full advantage of e-business," he says.
Requisition 3.0 is an e-procurement solution that allows customers to perform purchasing transactions with strategic suppliers over the Web, and is fully integrated with SmartStream purchasing and accounting applications.
Open Enrollment allows employees to monitor, review or change their benefits and enrolment selections online and to send requested information to benefits administrators, reducing human resources administrative time and costs.
GEAC Computer Corporation provides software and systems solutions for cross-industry enterprise business applications in financial administration and human resources, and ERP applications for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain management.
Requisition 3.0 extends the SmartStream purchasing functionality to a global user community via the Internet or a corporate intranet. This Web-enabled application reduces total ownership costs by eliminating costly individual workstation upgrades and ongoing maintenance. "Connectivity to suppliers` Web sites can be established within a matter of days, allowing catalogues of on-contract items to be rapidly available to users," says Van Rooyen.
"Customers can use Requisition 3.0 as the first step to implementing full compliance and control within their requisitioning processes. Companies can choose an area of their business they would like to improve, measure and adjust the results, and then rapidly apply the reengineered process across other facets of the organisation."
When integrated with an organisation`s SmartStream HR application, Open Enrollment allows employees to monitor, review or change their benefits and enrolment selections online and to send requested information to benefits administrators.
"As a self-service Web-enabled solution, Benefits Open Enrollment significantly reduces enrolment cycle times and cost per transaction. More importantly, this application provides immediate, personalised service to our customers` employees," adds Van Rooyen.
