CompTIA offers green IT exam
CompTIA is now offering a green IT exam to certify IT professionals in the use of environmentally-friendly technologies and policies, states CNET News.
CompTIA is a non-profit trade group that offers certification, research, and other services to IT professionals.
The new exam is geared toward IT supervisors, data centre managers, and other IT administrators who need to ensure their operations and resources are green, explains CompTIA.
Learning disability resource hub unveiled
UK care services minister Phil Hope and minister for disabled people Jonathan Shaw have unveiled an online resource hub for people with moderate and severe learning disabilities who are looking for employment, reports Computing.co.uk.
The resource, called Valuing People Now, is part of the UK government's Valuing Employment Now cross-government strategy.
This strategy sets a target date of 2025 by which the government hopes to radically increase the number of people with moderate to severe learning disabilities in employment.
Capita acquires Ramesys
Capita is buying education supplier Ramesys from Lloyds Bank for £15 million (R166.5 million), says Channel Register.
Ramesys, based in Nottingham, employs about 300 people and specialises in school projects. It has contracts with Nottingham, Manchester, Waltham Forest, Westminster, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich.
Paul Pindar, Capita's chief executive, says the deal would deepen and broaden the firm's education expertise as well as fitting well with its other public sector business.
