Computer Associates announces e-business solutions for IBM`s eServer zSeries

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced a suite of eBusiness management for IBM`s new eServer zSeries 900 mainframes. The announcement underscores CA`s commitment to helping clients exploit the scalability, availability, efficiency, and reliability of mainframes for eBusiness workloads.

The CA solutions incorporate all areas of eBusiness management, including , operations, storage and tape management, scheduling, network management, databases, application and database management, output management, resource management, real-time performance, data transport, change and configuration management, and testing and fault management.

"CA`s software solutions will accelerate the deployment of IBM`s eServer zSeries," said Ken Fitzpatrick, CA general manager, global marketing. "CA offers the most advanced comprehensive management tools for this powerful new eBusiness platform."

The IBM eServer zSeries 900 offers unprecedented power and connectivity to provide the performance demanded by online users. Moreover, this new mainframe will enable organizations to integrate web front-ends with back-office data and applications through an ultra-fast, seamless connection.

Clients can run OS/390 and Linux, as well as IBM`s new z/OS operating system, on the new zSeries 900 hardware. CA`s recently announced S/390 solution suite for LINUX, as well as additional Linux support for other CA solutions, will also be available for IBM`s new eServers.

CA software solutions for the new zSeries 900 will be available when the new z/OS operating system is made generally available in early 2001. In addition, CA will offer a full range of complementary consultation services, training, and education to support its offerings on IBM`s eServers.
