Computer Associates Africa and official South African CaminoSoft distributor, Channel Data, have announced a strategic alliance that is based on the interoperability between Caminosoft`s Managed Server HSM and CA`s BrightStor ARCserve backup and archiving software.
Internationally, companies are already deploying Managed Server HSM as a plug-in to BrightStor, and now local companies can also enjoy the benefits that come with deploying both solutions as part of their storage management strategies.
"Our BrightStor partners can now readily obtain CaminoSoft`s Managed Server HSM plug-in through Channel Data. This is no doubt in contrast to over a year ago when CaminoSoft products were only available internationally and not through a local distributor," comments Dion Gerrans, storage brand manager Africa at Computer Associates Africa.
Adds Amit Parbhucharan, technology marketing director at Channel Data: "Our alliance comes at a time when more companies are demanding complementary storage management tools; and this is exactly what CA and CaminoSoft offer.
"The alliance also gives us access to CA`s clients and vice versa, therefore, enabling us to prove much-needed value-add services to our valuable customers."
CA has already held various Tech Talk workshops at its offices on the alliance and interoperability between BrightStor and Managed Server HSM, which has been well received by partners.
The interoperability benefits between BrightStor and CaminoSoft Managed Server HSM are also being demonstrated at the CA Solutions Centre in Morningside, Johannesburg.
