Computer Associates delivers Linux-based e-commerce/web management solution

Computer Associates International, Inc has announced a Linux version of its MasterIT e-commerce/Web management solution. The new version is being offered as a direct result of corporate customers` growing tendency to deploy the open source operating system for a wide range of applications, such as Web servers.

MasterIT offers complete, Linux-based Web management capabilities, providing customers today with high performance and reliability for diverse e-commerce and other business-critical Web services.

The introduction of MasterIT on Linux further extends CA`s commitment to the burgeoning Linux software community, reinforcing CA`s commitment to enable its clients to IT resources across all platforms found in today`s heterogeneous enterprise.

"Corporate IT departments are already using Linux to run many of their e-business functions, and this trend is only going to increase," said Yogesh Gupta, CA senior vice president of product . "CA is supporting this trend by delivering best-in-class solutions that both run on the Linux platform and effectively manage Linux-based resources. By doing so, we will help our customers get maximum business value out of this increasingly popular platform."

MasterIT manages Linux machines running all popular supported Web servers, including Apache and Netscape. It continually monitors the health and performance of the Linux Web servers and hosted URLs to proactively detect and resolve problems, dramatically improving Web site availability and response times. MasterIT also detects unauthorized content changes and missing or slow page links to ensure Web site integrity.

MasterIT`s distributed architecture enables the manageability of an unlimited number of Web servers and sites. It can manage multiple Web application instances deployed on a single Linux platform or distributed applications across heterogeneous servers in all environments.

MasterIT supports Web applications running on Windows NT (Alpha and Intel), Sun Solaris, HP-UX and IBM AIX.
