Computer Storage Services has announced today that it has officially commenced with the distribution of solid state drives into the African Market. Super Talent, a USA-based manufacturer and world leader for the past 20 years in memory modules and high performance solid state devices, has signed on Computer Storage Services (CSSI) as its partner in Africa.
CSSI has been selling solid state drives for some time, but the latest price reductions, improved performance and also the market interest has resulted in a surge for such devices in the past two quarters. Solid state drives (SSD) are at the highest level of reliability with the major investment into this technology, and Super Talent is one of the world leaders. Its SSDs have been breaking and beating some of Super Talent's formidable competitors on performance ratings, and in some cases have the highest performance ratings based on test bench results and according to their latest testing in lab.
According to James Grcic, MD, CSSI: “We were very thrilled by the opportunity to distribute SSD, but when they told us they have the fastest SD on the market, and faster than Intel's SSDs reaching speeds up 250 Megabytes per second in data transfer; even our eyebrows were raised. We put the SSDs to the test in our product labs for weeks and the results were spectacular.”
James explains: “... some test customers across the country from a host of industry backgrounds were very upbeat. This is the future of storage technology and customers were calling me up about how they had instant access, rapid boot ups, SQL queries that were 15 to 20 times faster, and even our gamers did not want to return the toys.”
CSSI has made the SSD drive available to its channel and reseller partners this month, and will shortly announce further agents in South Africa.
Super Talent, the manufacturer, is a technical leader with over 200 patents in Flash and DRAM technologies. Its headquarters are in San Jose, California, and it has facilities in the Asia Pacific region. This alliance seeks to solidify CSSI's position as one of the market leaders in data storage solutions and devices and with leading product such as the SSDs from Super Talent.
CSSI has made the SSD drive available in the following capacities: 32GB; 64GB; 128GB and 256GB in the South African market. The company will make an announcement shortly with regard to the 512GB drive launching locally. CSSI has reduced prices on the Super Talent SSD range by approximately 12%-15% below the industry standard to gain market adoption and awareness during this quarter.
