Computex Taipei - World's Leading IT Procurement platform

Johannesburg, 30 Mar 2008

Computex Taipei 2008, the second largest ICT exhibition in the world, ended on 7 June. It was the first time four exhibition halls have been used in Computex Taipei, namely TWTC Hall 1, TWTC Hall 3, Taipei International Convention Centre and the brand new Nangang Exhibition Hall. With this much capacity, the scale of the exhibition has increased by 53% compared with last year. According to estimates made by the organisers, the total number of visitors this year amounted to 106 517 people, of which 34 685 were overseas buyers, 5% more than last year's 33 027, reaching a new height.

It is estimated that the five-day exhibition brought in purchase orders for Taiwan's ICT industry that amounted to more than $20 billion, effectively increasing Taiwan's visibility on the world stage. Computex Taipei is not only a trade exhibition, but also one of the most important information and technology exchange platforms for the global ICT industry.

The largest number of buyers was again from the USA and next in place were Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, India, and Russia. The increase of buyers from Asian territories shows that Asia has already become the centre of the global IT industry market and also that the demand for IT products is rapidly growing in rising economies like China, India and Russia.

K-Well as an origination was well represented in the Computex Taipei 2008 exhibition. We were able to welcome our worldwide partners and Philips distributors at booths J626, J628, J725 and J727 in Nangang Exhibition Hall from 3 to 7 June, 2008.
