Computing with processor power from Annex, Intel

Johannesburg, 19 Jun 2007

Annex Distribution, a long-time local supplier of Intel-based products, is pleased to announce the availability of the Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor for the desktop PC.

The latest in Intel's desktop-focused infrastructure offers the user a number of advantages that bring to the fore the benefit of dual-core processing technology.

The primary purpose behind the introduction of the Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor is to enhance the performance of the desktop.

One of its key features is the Intel Intelligent Power Capability. This is designed to optimise energy usage in the processor cores by enabling computing functions only when required.

Another is improved acoustics. The Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop Processor is equipped with a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that helps regulate thermal control in the processor and platform.

In addition, Intel has integrated platform support with the latest processor. This means that if combined with the Intel Express Chipset, the user benefits from high-quality graphics and sound through integrated Intel High Definition Audio and Intel Graphics Media Acceleration (GMA).

This solution represents Intel's commitment to ensure that users are able to run multimedia applications quickly, without any delays. It also takes into consideration the security threats, like viruses, that continue to plague technology systems and networks.

"We are proud distributors of Intel processor infrastructure. It is clear, given the features and focus of the product, that the global technology vendor aims to help users extract the advantage in technology and ensure that sophisticated applications and software runs smoothly," explains Wayne Britz, director of Annex Distribution.

"This is true business-building technology. There is certainly a need for it - and we are meeting this need," adds Britz.
