Compuways Training (Getcertified) has released schedules of part-time training courses for July 2007.
Every module is a classroom-lectured course, consisting of 30 lecturing hours or 10 lessons. The courses are given either on weekday evenings, full-time during the day or Saturdays. The following programming courses are run:
Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) 3 modules
Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) 1 module
Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD) 2 modules
It is targeted at students who want to become certified in a programming language in order to boost their career placement opportunities and/or practical skills in terms of practising the theory.
The courses were developed to offer students flexibility in effective training delivery, especially to those who are at work during the day. The effectiveness lies in the fact that the courses are not crammed into five days, but spread out over a couple of weeks, so the student can have the opportunity to practise the theory while on the course.
We have been running our training division, GetCertified, successfully for four years.
Our lecturers are experienced in the industry in both software projects and lecturing with references available on requests.
The next set cycle of courses are scheduled to start in the first week of July and thereafter bi-monthly or on request.
For experienced programmers:
The MCPD consists of three modules, costing R6 495 each, which is a total of R19 485.
The SCJP consists of one module, which costs R6 495.
The SCJD requires two modules, costing R6 495 each, thus a total of R12 990.
For beginners with no experience and a matric which included maths as a subject, an extra beginner course is required. Programming for the absolute beginner costs R6 495.
The international certification exams per module for Microsoft courses are R660 per module and R1 200 for Java.
Our courses are effective, straight to the point and intended to teach the students practical skills as well as get them certified. Having a recruitment partner in Compuways, we offer to our unemployed students an employment service as well. We have placed many graduates from our college successfully because they were able to demonstrate their practical skills.
In turn, we are loyal to our corporate clients in the sense that we do not recruit/market students sent on training courses by our clients.
