IT distributor Comztek has reined in Bridget Kelly as sales director to lead the expansion of its African operations.

Comztek MD, Paul Conradie, says the group's Africa investment is paying off for vendors like Cisco, Microsoft, HP, Symantec, Adobe and Fujitsu, who are all experiencing sizable market share growth.

“This is partly due to the fact that markets, especially East Africa, are becoming more mature thanks to developments like the Seacom cable. It's also because our operation now has significant stability and resource in market to drive sales across our technology offerings.”

Kelly says: “The opportunity to drive the Comztek brand across key African geographies and build the company's standing as a distributor and systems integrator is exciting.

“It is really important for all of us that Africa, as a continent, is successful. I would like to think that the Comztek Rest of Africa team can contribute in some small way to this goal.”

Kelly previously held the role of regional head for Avaya sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to this, she was with the Business Connexion and Q Groups.

As part of its growth plans, the IT distributor recently appointed two channel managers - Michael Kruger and Colleen du Toit - to drive the management and promotion of IT services and products.
