Content management for Web merchants
MoonLite Vision, a Web management provider, has introduced bizBaron, a content management software solution which incorporates an online store, online appointment scheduling, subscription content, memberships, and community forums within one application, according to a company statement.
The release of bizBaron provides Web merchants, whether a service provider or seller of goods, a non-technical solution for all or most of their Internet commerce needs, says Moonlight. Merchants can purchase bizBaron for use on their Web server, or elect to use bizBaron-provided Web hosting.
bizBaron also features payment solutions through the PayPal interface and is currently only available in the US.
Alfresco releases OSS CMS
Enterprises and developers can now download an enterprise-class content management system that utilises open source, reports Linux Electrons. Alfresco is built on modern, service oriented technology and standards, such as Spring, Hibernate, Lucene and Web Services, JSR-168, JSR-170 and MyFaces.
These help to dramatically bring down the cost and complexity of both implementation and use of these systems, the article states. The company is lead by a team of content management veterans including the co-founder of Documentum.
The Alfresco ECM solution is designed for small to mid-sized enterprises and departments in Global 1000 organisations that want a system that is easy for end-users to use while also being simple-to-install and flexible for developers to create new and customised content applications.
Stellent listed in Gartner`s leaders` quadrant
Stellent a global provider of content management solutions, has announced that it was listed in the leaders` quadrant in Gartner`s "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management (ECM), 2005" report. This is Gartner`s second edition of the report, according to a company statement.
According to the report, "leaders have the highest combined scores for their ability to execute and completeness of vision. They`re currently doing well and are prepared for the future with a clearly articulated vision. In the context of content management, they have strong channel partners, a presence in multiple regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform support and good customer support.
"In addition, they dominate in one or more technology or vertical markets. Leaders can deliver a comprehensive ECM suite by having all six core components and proven enterprise scalability." Gartner defines the six core ECM components as being document management, Web content management, records management, document capture and document imaging, document-centric collaboration and workflow.
