Leaf Wireless today announced the availability of the new i-mate SP3 SmartPhone. The i-mate is a stylish, slim, compact and truly intelligent phone packaged in a distinctive blue metallic finish, crammed with functionality for a go-anywhere, do-anything solution.
Tri-band GSM/GPRS and enhanced Bluetooth with a USB cable and wired stereo headset take care of connectivity. It runs Microsoft`s completely re-written Windows Mobile Second Edition for SmartPhone and has a bright, clear, 64 000-colour transflective screen. It will play back video and audio files (including MP3) and has a built-in VGA camera. Battery life is nearly doubled, due in part to a light sensor to adapt to ambient light, giving 3.5 hours talk time, 140 hours standby on the standard battery.
Software included with the phone is Pocket Outlook, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, games and more. A new joystick makes for easy access to menus and control of applications without detracting from the slim design - the phone weighs just 106.3g and is 17.5mm thick.
The i-mate functionality is complemented by Club i-mate, which offers exclusively to i-mate users ringtones, music, themes and software and accessories at special prices to registered members. Registration is free, and includes access to online support services and Club i-mate e-mail, a hosted Microsoft Exchange e-mail account with 10MB of storage (with more available if required).
Synchronisation could not be more convenient: you can use your network connection to synchronise e-mail, contacts and calendar with your PC over the air, so wherever you are you can keep your i-mate information current. The process is optimised for cellular connections, minimising the time and cost needed to send and receive mail and browse the Internet.
