The Core Group, local distributor for Apple products, today dropped the price of iPad 2 tablets.
This week, Apple announced the new 4G LTE iPad, which features retina display, and a five-megapixel iSight camera.
The third-generation tablet also has Apple's new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and 1080p HD video. Despite the added features, Apple says the new iPad still delivers the same all-day 10-hour battery life.
With the launch of the latest generation, the iPad 2 was being offered at a more affordable price, starting at $399.
This morning, Core dropped the cost of the tablet in the local market. Any entry-level iPad 2 is now available for R3 999, a R1 000 saving.
The company cut the cost of all its WiFi iPad 2s by R1 000, while the 3G-enabled models have dropped by between R1 000 and R1 400. The top-of-the-range tablet - the 64GB with 3G - is now R7 299.
Core cannot yet confirm when the new iPad will be available in SA.
