Corex launches Leadtek GTX Extreme

Johannesburg, 09 Jan 2006

Corex, the local representative for Leadtek Research, has released a new graphics card, the WinFast PX7800 GTX Extreme, said to be the most powerful yet produced by the innovative R&D company, which specialises in extreme visual graphics technology development.

The WinFast PX7800 GTX Extreme is based on the award-winning GeForce 7800 GTX architecture and supports next-generation gaming technologies. These include Shader Model 3.0, high-dynamic range (HDR) lighting, and NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI) multi-GPU technology.

Targeted at the demanding gaming market, the Winfast PX7800 GTX Extreme card is compatible with all standard Scalable Link Interface (SLI) motherboards.

A key element of its design, according to Corex MD Fred Lu, is its "ultra cooling system" central to which is the Quadro FX4500 fan which enhances the card`s already exceptional performance levels.

The fan features a 4-heatpipe and 2 slot design to deliver excellent cooling efficiency and reduce noise to "below average" readings at all times, says Lu.

"This design effectively transfers heat away from key components - such as the memory/power IC - allowing processing-intensive tasks to run more reliably, without excessive heat buildup within the computer casing," he says.

Other features of the 256MB 256-bit card include support for NVIDIA UltraShadow II Technology enabling it to deliver four times the shadow processing power of previous generation products.

Lu says the WinFast PX7800 GTX Extreme card, with 490/625MHz GPU/Memory clock, delivers "unmatched performance and ultimate over-clocking capacity" capable of accelerating the performance of new shadow intensive games such as id Software`s Quake IV.

"It also supports the new NVIDIA CineFX 4.0 engine and the NVIDIA Intellisample 4.0 technology to deliver advanced visual effects at unimaginable speeds for the most realistic gaming experiences," he adds.
