The success of the Certificate in Cyber Security offered by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), the French South African Institute of Technology (F'SATI) and CS Interactive Training exposed the need for targeted, practical training from a South African perspective. The decline in the local and global economy together with the increase in unemployment force changes within the cyber threat environment.
Organisations and individuals are exposed more than ever as criminal organisations utilise the openness and connectedness of the Internet to unlawfully gain access to sensitive information. Cyber security-related incidents increase on a daily basis, and organisations and individuals need to devise and implement different strategies to stay abreast of the new threat and attack models.
As a way to grow a cyber security culture that assists persons within the trade to devise, implement and monitor effective strategies, that develops the field of expertise and the subsequent drive for workable solutions, advanced and focused training is a necessity. There are three courses that set out to build Cyber Security expertise in both the governance and technical areas to commence in September 2015. These courses will be offered by experts in the industry and academia and are also approved by CPUT, F'SATI and CS Interactive Training. The uniquely designed content is facilitated through short intensive workshops, followed by periods of dedicated e-learning sessions.
We are excited to announce the start of the following three courses:
