Coventry selects ProVentive

Coventry Health Care has selected ProVentive for its pilot project in identifying and managing cardiovascular , says Market Watch.

Coventry, providing a full range of group and individual health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid programmes, and coverage for specialty services including dental services, will deploy ProVentive's solutions to identify health plan members who are most likely to develop adverse cardiovascular clinical conditions, and will use ProVentive as a base from which to release its comprehensive Heart Failure pilot programme.

The voluntary Heart Failure programme is focused on early identification of risk factors, daily symptom monitoring and medication reminders using a home-based device.

Unisys chooses Edifecs

Unisys has selected the Edifecs Accelerator Suite to automate validation for healthcare transactions in both real-time and batch modes within the product and development areas of the Unisys Healthcare Payer Administrative Solution, reports Market Watch

Sunny Singh, Edifecs CEO, says: "In response to Medicaid reform challenges, state Medicaid programmes are increasingly moving away from costly legacy systems to more cost-effective, flexible IT solutions, like Edifecs Healthcare Accelerator Suite.

These systems, he says, handle electronic and Web-based transactions, integrate with multiple agencies and quickly handle changes and controls to reduce operational and administrative costs.

GE unveils Centrality PACS upgrade

GE Healthcare IT, a provider of healthcare IT, unveiled a new version of Centricity PACS, the first major solution to derive from GE's Dynamic Imaging, states WTN News.

Providing an intuitive platform for radiologists, the solution has made significant strides to improve performance, interface navigation, and ergonomic design.

The recent installation of GE's Centricity PACS-IW expands acclaimed Web-based PACS technology and delivers additional innovative tools aimed to sustain flexible IT models for outpatient imaging centres, virtual radiology practices, physician offices, and hospitals.
