Crisis drives risk-aware culture
Ernst & Young's second annual risk governance survey of banking leaders reveals that three-quarters of all respondents believe that a risk-aware culture is vitally important within an enterprise, says lehighvalleylive.com.
The survey, titled 'Navigating the crisis', also found that 86% of respondents indicated their banks are implementing a variety of projects designed to provide a more comprehensive approach to risk. However, only 16% say they have a well-defined, shared vision of what it would look like.
Ernst & Young's banking and capital markets leader Bill Schlich says: "Most of the banks we talked to are taking the time to reassess where they are along the risk infrastructure, and where they need to get to. What it boils down to is building a system that takes into consideration the interrelated and dynamic nature of business within a financial institution."
