CRM Solutions Get WAP Support

Unihold Business Solutions, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Unihold Holdings and the local distributor of the Applix suite of front office business solutions, has announced that the Applix iEnterprise CRM solution now includes support for the Application Protocol (WAP).

Edward Carbutt, technical manager: CIS/CRM at Unihold Business Solutions, says WAP technology allows any user in any location to access time critical business information. "It offers an efficient and effective platform for mobile CRM solutions."

The de facto standard for enabling sophisticated and information services on handheld wireless devices such as mobile telephones, pagers and personal assistants (PDAs), this development, he says, underpins the mission to provide information access any time, any place and on a variety of networks and devices.

"The connection between mobility and customer management will soon support one-to-one marketing, regardless of time and location of the customer. It will supply valuable information to the CRM process in terms of customer data that, in turn, will help to streamline the sales and marketing process," comments Carbutt.

"iEnterprise addresses the needs of the connected user by constantly updating information. The addition of support for WAP enabled devices extends this functionality to the mobile worker needing to be connected to corporate data in real time."
