Consulting and IT services group CS Holdings is in talks with a potential black empowerment partner.
The group has issued a cautionary statement saying only that the talks relate to the acquisition of a shareholding in CSH by a prominent black economic empowerment group.
It does not specify how large a stake is under negotiation, nor any other terms of a potential deal.
The announcement is in line with a statement by CEO Annette van der Laan at the release of its latest financial results that it was hoping to sign on an empowerment partner.
CSH reported an increase in attributable profit to R17.1 million for the year to 30 June 2001, from a previous figure of R16.63 million. This was on turnover of R202.85 million (2000: R163.08 million).
The CSH share was unchanged at 100c on the JSE this morning.
