Telkom has contracted JSE-listed CS Holdings in a R4,5 million deal aimed at upgrading Telkom PBX`s maintenance contract management systems. The contract is for the installation of the ProfitAbility customer order fulfilment system, part of the Ability suite of business management solutions from JSE-listed Ixchange; GoldMine FrontOffice 2000, the mid-market customer relationship management (CRM) system from GoldMine Software SA, also an Ixchange division; and KeyFlow Commerce, the workflow and e-commerce system from KeyFile Corporation SA.
The Ability suite licence is for 250 seats, the GoldMine FrontOffice 2000 licence is for 70 seats and the KeyFlow licence is for 70 seats.20 The project is being implemented in three phases by CS Holdings` subsidiary, CS Integrated Solutions. The implementation of ProfitAbility took 45 days and was successfully completed early in January this year. The implementation of GoldMine FrontOffice was completed at the end of March, while the KeyFlow implementation should be completed by the end of May.
"Telkom`s PBXs are sold in a highly competitive PABX arena, competing with world-class brand names," says Jan Pieterse, executive: consumer and business products at Telkom`s marketing division. "We want to offer our Telkom PBX clients the very best in terms of customer service. To remain competitive, it has become imperative to implement a state-of-the-art business solution that is able to dynamically support sales of PBXs and accompanying maintenance contracts. A key requirement therefore, was very rapid implementation since every day counts.
"CS Integrated Solutions was able to guarantee the speed and level of service we require to meet our tight deadline," adds Pieterse.
Telkom`s PBX Business Systems division operates independently of the rest of the Group, and needed its own billing, stock control and business management systems, as well as an efficient customer relationship management system. Each layer in this solution integrates easily with the other, and Ability also allows for easy interfacing with other systems used by Telkom.
Telkom PBX Business Systems is CS Integrated Solutions` largest Ability implementation since taking on the product suite in October 1998. "What is really exciting is the way we are combining these three superb packages - Ability, GoldMine FrontOffice 2000 and KeyFlow - to deliver a rapid implementation solution which is flexible, scaleable, and has an excellent upgrade path," says Stefan Coetzer, a director of CS Integrated Solutions.
"Ability already has an excellent reputation as the top business management system designed specifically for businesses which need supply chain optimisation, distribution and financial services solutions," says Coetzer.
"GoldMine FrontOffice 2000 is a CRM solution designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. It combines the sales and marketing automation tools of GoldMine 5.0 with the internal help desk management functionality of HEAT 5.0, to provide automation tools for sales, marketing and support to provide an easy-to-use, yet powerful solution for small- and medium-sized businesses.
"The KeyFlow workflow layer will provide systematic and effective direction of information flowing through the system, ensuring that events happen within agreed deadlines and according to specific guidelines and management requirements."
