CS Holdings selects Ability to improve service levels

CS IT Solutions, the desktop outsourcing company of the JSE-listed CS Holdings group, has improved its ability to support its client-base with the installation of Ixchange`s customer order fulfilment system, ProfitAbility which is part of the business management solutions suite, Ability.

CS IT Solutions is focused on providing tailored solutions to its clients.

To enable the company to effectively support internal and external clients properly, the company needed to be able to integrate its support services with its own and its clients` operational systems, says Otto van der Walt, director of support services at CS IT Solutions.

"The system needs to be lean and flexible to be able to fit in with each customer`s unique requirements," adds Van der Walt. "ProfitAbility will unlock the value in CS IT Solutions and its customers` to further improve the service available to customers."

To add tangible value to customers, CS IT Solutions needs to assist customers in managing their IT assets cost effectively. Using ProfitAbility`s customer costing functionality, the company can demonstrate the real value of contracts to customers, making use of the build-in reporting feature, ReportAbility. Van der Walt says ReportAbility is "a one-stop reporting facility that provides financial, logistics, operational, and costing data. We want to get to the point of being our customer`s business , providing each one with the best service and information to enable them to achieve the best return on their IT infrastructure".

ProfitAbility`s strength lies in its system, which allows CS IT Solutions to manage its stock levels cost effectively, making sure that the company keeps the correct amount of stock, in the correct places. "Having the right parts in the right place is vital to our measuring up to our service levels. Having the best technical skills on site is pointless if you do not have the right parts," adds Van der Walt. "ProfitAbility will allow us to manage and control our inventory levels, and related issues such as warranty services on a proactive basis.

Van der Walt adds that ProfitAbility was the final choice for other reasons as well. These include the fact that it is also able to fit in with CS IT Solution`s WAN, providing real-time information to all branches around the country. "Our dispersed business units can now log onto the Ability server from various locations around the country and, in real-time, manage all financial and logistical issues."

"Since CS FBS is an Ability VAR, we could be sure of getting the best support and maintenance," adds Van der Walt. "The fact that it is a local product means that customisation will be a simple procedure, while it also provides international support." The package is also easily customisable and can make use of information in CS IT Solution`s operational system - GEMS. The company started implementation in September, and will have all the CS IT Solutions business units running by October.
