Three trainers from JSE-listed CS Holdings` IT education arm, CS Education Solutions, have been among the first trainers in SA to be certified in the Windows 2000 track before the December 2000.

Microsoft issued a challenge to trainers with Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCT) certification on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0,to upgrade to Windows 2000 MCSE before 1 October 2001, in order to retain their credentials.

Education Solutions is a CTEC (Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centre) and the examinations - seven difficult modules - were successfully completed by Viaan van Rensburg, Jacques Viviers and Freddie Louwrens of CS Education Solutions` Durban branch, well in advance of the deadline.

The three completed the modules on designing, installing, configuring, and administering MS Windows 2000 Professional, Server, Network infrastructure, Directory services infrastructure, and Network security.

Viviers explains that CS Education Solutions MSCE trainers have always been driven to be the best in their field, and that is why they made sure to complete their examinations before the deadline. They have since received their letters of accreditation from Microsoft, including Charter Membership.

"The Windows 2000 track has rigorous examinations which have raised the bar considerably from NT 4.0, " Viviers explains. "Viaan van Rensburg spearheaded the Windows 2000 certification track by obtaining the MSCE 2000 certification during the beta testing phase in April 2000.

"Within two months of the final release of the exams, Freddie Louwrens and myself completed the MSCE 2000 certification. We are definitely driven to be the best MCSEs in the country, and we saw the exams as a challenge. Our trainers at CS Education Solutions have always been right up there with the best in terms of imparting skills for the successful design, implementation and administration of Microsoft Windows Platform and Microsoft server products. We realise that in order to stay ahead and meet customer demands, we have to adapt very quickly to changing technologies.

"Our clients can specialise in specific areas of the Windows 2000 track and are able to select modules according to their specific career paths. We are currently offering SQL 2000, MCDBA, Exchange 2000, Security, Systems management, E-commerce and Advanced e-commerce options and have structured these packages accordingly," says Viviers.

MCSEs currently certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 track, have until 31 December 2001 to upgrade to the Premier Windows 2000 MSCE and Viviers encourages clients to upgrade to Windows 2000 timeously.
