Computer Storage Services Africa (Pty) Ltd (CSSI Africa) - the home of the Ministers Award for Technological Excellence 2003, NPI emerging sector Gold Award Winner and the Age of Innovation runner-up 2004 - has been recognised by the Corporate Research Foundation as one of South Africa`s Most Promising Companies.
A strong foundation, proven track record and business strategy going forward sees CSSI as a company destined to expand and grow in this IT environment with extreme competition that today requires innovation, leadership and entrepreneurship just to survive.
"Our team is ready to take up any challenge," says visionary leader and managing director of CSSI Africa, James Grcic.
"We are no longer seen as a young company. We have over 100 years of combined experience in hard drive and storage technology under our belts. Top IT professionals in Asia, the US, Brazil and Europe form part of our company and our knowledge base, and ties with global manufacturers and engineers have earned us the reputation as `the authority in data recovery and storage products` in SA," Grcic adds.
CSSI Africa`s absolute focus is on data recovery, data storage and hard drive development - and the R&D CSSI Africa pushes in these fields has earned CSSI this title among the IT professionals and companies across Africa.
This year, CSSI Africa`s technology was put to the biggest tests ever, having saved the Malawi election, several critical servers for listed firms and government agencies, installations and bringing to market high-end storage are some of the reasons the name "CSSI" is making noise merely by word of mouth.
Further research performed in September 2004 showed that CSSI Africa, through the ability to recover data and restore information within hours had saved SA about R1.27 billion in productivity in the past 12 months!
Not only data recovery, but CSSI`s proven, patented technology in re-manufacturing hard disk drives and tape devices has led to a rapid expansion of the company`s core offerings. At present, CSSI Africa re-manufactures about 10 000 hard disk drives, 200 tape devices monthly and has also become an aggressive distributor of storage devices, hard drives and high-end backup solutions.
On 24 November 2004, Corporate Research Foundation (CRF) launched the fourth edition of South Africa`s Most Promising Companies, at the Inanda Club.
Companies featured in this year`s edition have shown courage, perseverance and ability to innovate in the face of whatever adversity they have encountered.
A team of leading journalists and business analysts worked closely with CRF to ensure the selection criteria for inclusion in the publication are relevant and topical.
Numerous interviews and studies were completed with businesses across the country with key directors, management and staff, to then confirm whether the company qualified for selection and publication.
CSSI Africa got it right and has made the list of SA`s Most Promising Companies. CRF also recognised and highlighted CSSI Africa as SA`s Most Entrepreneurial Company for 2004/2005.
