Computer Storage Services (CSSI) today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with STEC (NASDEQ:STEC), one of the leading manufacturers of Solid State Drives (SSDs), for the distribution of its industry leading ZeusIOPS and MACH family of SSD products on the African continent.
As South Africa's leading niche storage distributor and having several years of experience in the distribution of SSDs, this distribution agreement expands CSSI's portfolio of products to take advantage of the transition that is taking place from hard drives to SSDs and to provide high performance SSDs to enterprise and OEMs that require rigorous performance from their storage appliances.
Leveraging the performance enhancements of STEC product offering and the technical support of CSSI, the companies will utilise its combined strengths to promote and educate the market on the benefits of solid-state drives (SSDs). SSDs are gaining momentum in Africa due to performance enhancements, no moving parts mitigating the risk of mechanical failure, and the significant energy and power savings over HDDs.
