Senior IT managers from around the world will gather in Cape Town from 11 to 13 March for the second Architecture Practitioners Conference hosted by The Open Group and its local representative, Real IRM.
"The event aims to provide experience-based insight into the approaches and methods for developing enterprise architectures around the world," says Stuart Macgregor, MD of Real IRM.
He says the conference will also demonstrate the business value enterprise architecture offers organisations of any size and highlight the speed at which return on investment can be achieved when applying enterprise architecture in a company.
"Enterprise architecture is an essential component of all organisations striving to prosper in an ever-changing business environment," he says.
According to Macgregor, enterprise architecture not only provides the strategic context for the evolution of IT in the organisation, but also aims to enable it to maintain the right balance between business innovation and the integration needs of the extended enterprise.
The conference is aimed at CIOs and senior management responsible for IT and enterprise architecture, including managers of IT infrastructures, business process modellers, enterprise architects and governance executives.
Although speakers for the 2007 event have yet to be announced, Macgregor says with appreciation of enterprise architecture expanding rapidly, the conference is "well positioned to drive home the positive impact it has on business".
