Customers can choose between NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 480 GeForce GTX 470 graphics cards in single, dual, or triple video card configurations, with CyberPower stating customers can add a second GPU without having to upgrade any components.

Fermi-based systems will have compatible components such as SLI-ready motherboards, power supplies and cooling options and come loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit, allowing for DirectX 11.

Consumer computer purchases up

The NPD Group has released a study entitled 'Understanding the Canadian PC buyer' which states that aging computers are considered unreliable, says The Financial.

The study reports more than half of PC purchases in 2009 were considered replacements for aging or outdated hardware. Some 50% of notebook purchases were replacements, with netbook growth increasing, as 77% of purchasers indicate netbooks are becoming an extension of their PC inventory.

“Although I expect the replacement phase with notebook and desktop computers will exist in the Canadian PC market for the foreseeable future, netbooks will continue to rise in popularity and will exhibit sustained sales growth as Canadians continue the shift towards multi-PC households,” says Darrel Ryce, NPD Group director.

The two models are comparatively similar, with the cheaper excluding touch-screen capabilities and containing a smaller hard drive at 320GB versus 500GB. The models are said to hit the European market in May.
