
Czech broadcasters urge speedier transition
Czech broadcaster TV Nova and publicly owned Czech Television have joined forces to overcome digital broadcasting hurdles, says Broadband TV News.
They have submitted proposals to both the Czech Telecom Office and the national transmission company related to speeding up the digital transition.
The transition to digital broadcasting is already well under way in the Czech Republic. It is being undertaken on a region-by-region basis, with Prague having been all digitalised since spring and Plzen set to follow this autumn.
Opposition parties reject broadcasting bill
Radical Party, Uni'on PRO and Civic Coalition's blocs of the Lower House of Congress have rejected the proposed Kirchnerite Broadcasting Bill in Buenos Aires, reports Buenos Aires Herald.
Almost 20 lawmakers from the different opposition parties gave a press conference to publicly confirm their rejection towards the bill and also to list the agreements they have achieved during their meetings.
Radical Party's head at the Lower House of Congress, Oscar Aguad, claims the bill "is part of the government's strategy to keep their political and economic power".
FlyCast upgrades broadcasting service
FlyCast has released the second version of its mobile broadcasting service which is available from BlackBerry App World, states PR Web.
FlyCast 2.0 allows users to cache any of the 1 500 channels offered on its service at high speed when wirelessly connected, and then enjoy the cached entertainment at any later time.
Users who download and install FlyCast 2.0 on their BlackBerry Bold, Storm, Tour, or Curve smartphone can try the caching feature free for one week.
