D-Link now shipping its new wireless N 150 desktop adapter

Johannesburg, 27 May 2010

D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for consumers and business, announced the release of the company's new DWA-525, a wireless N 150 desktop adapter.

The DWA-525 is a single-antenna wireless N desktop adapter that delivers data at speeds up to 150Mbps*. Compatible with IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards, this device provides extended coverage and reception in comparison to 802.11b/g standards, providing better range to reduce wireless dead spots. The DWA-525 also includes WiFi Multimedia and Power Save QOS support to prioritise media traffic while conserving battery power in smaller devices.

“Higher transmission speeds have become essential for smooth operation in a number of today's newest multimedia applications and devices,” said Tobie van Schalkwyk, D-Link South Africa Country Manager. “The DWA-525 allows consumers to utilise the high speed that wireless N provides all at an affordable price.”

For additional convenience, the DWA-525 supports WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) to quickly secure and set up a wireless network. This device includes 64/128-bit WEP encryption and WPA/WPA2 security to protect user networks and wireless data. The DWA-525 also offers absolute interoperability in the 802.11b/g standard.
