D-Link, the end-to-end network solutions provider for consumers and business, today announced that it is now shipping the D-Link myPocket 3.5G HSDPA Router (DIR-457), which allows users to securely connect to mobile broadband networks.
The DIR-457 is a mobile, pocket-sized router that offers download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps when using an UMTS/HSDPA SIM card.
The slim design of this router, along with its built-in rechargeable battery, provides users with portable convenience. It offers immediate 3G network access and sharing via WiFi with up to 16 clients, by simply pushing the “on” button at the top of the device. This router also includes a micro-SD slot to share files with other WiFi enabled devices.
“The myPocket Router was created for users 'on the go' as it offers high speed wireless connection on the fly,” said Tobie van Schalkwyk, D-Link South Africa Country Manager. “With so many different services and technologies dependent on the Internet, this device allows users to create a wireless connection regardless of their location.”
The myPocket router can be used in one of two different modes, as either a USB modem or WiFi router. This router offers robust wireless protection with WPA/WPA2 encryption, and it provides flexible coverage with multiple frequency support.
Availability
The DIR-457 myPocket 3.5G HSDPA Router will soon available through D-Link's network of value-added resellers, solution providers and distributors.
