DaCast intros self-serve live video streaming

DaCast is has unveiled its self-serve live video streaming service after about three years of development, states Media Beat.

The San Francisco-based company originally set out to create a peer-to-peer for live video streaming technology in mid-2008. But the company pivoted to make its online broadcasting platform into a self-service business, allowing video creators to live-stream anything they want.

Stephane Roulland, chief executive of DaCast, says it takes as little as 20 minutes to set up a professional-looking live video stream that anyone can view. He calls it live streaming “for the rest of us.” This is a real game-changer, since no one else is doing it today”.

Vodafone aims to improve its customer service with the introduction of a call back and express mobile phone repair and replacement service as well as a new mobile and online self-service application, states Smart Office.

From mid-November, Vodafone customers who call customer care from their mobile or from any other phone will be given the option of requesting a return call from a customer service representative, rather than waiting on hold.

Vodafone Hutchison Australia's director of customer service, Cormac Hodgkinson says, "We appreciate that our customers' time is precious. We're doing a lot of things to improve the speed of our customer service and we're also introducing the call back option because it saves our customers from waiting on hold during busy service periods."

The $12 000 self service kiosk may save the department money by allowing desk officers to take care of other police businesses.

With the new kiosk, users can check Megan's law (one which requires police to make public sex offenders' information), register for the emergency notification system, file a complaint or link to crime stoppers to help solve a crime.
