Data recovery breakthrough on hard drives allowing for near 100% full data recovery on all damaged SATA, SAS drives

A technology breakthrough with a unique software development to recover data from damaged hard drives has resulted in a near 100% success in data recoveries from failed and crashed drives.

Midrand, 10 Feb 2011

Computer Storage Services (CSSI), which back in 2003 won the Ministers award for Technological Development and Achievement in its data recovery and digital forensic software development, has just discovered a unique and secret method for the recovery of data from defective and failed hard drives that have bad sectors or damaged platters that result in corrupted or unreadable data on hard drives or RAID systems.

According to founder and MD James Grcic: “What we have discovered is a way to pinpoint the exact microscopic location and map each sector on any Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi, Toshiba or Samsung hard drive that has failed, and reconstruct even the defective sectors on the platters to yield in most cases a full 100% success rate on any failed or crashed hard drives. The method, technique and process are completely revolutionary using our own developed software and hardware systems.”

Several trials over the past few weeks have resulted in near perfect to perfect recoveries due to the ability to access and modify head offset positions, and with each hard drive's unique defective mapping attributes and defect list management tables identify where the exact failure occurred and use ID field marker identification with thorough knowledge of the data wedge structure on platters, and if necessary manipulate firmware operations to yield a 100% success rate in reconstructing data from defective sectors.

In 'laymen terms', files that become corrupt, or fail due to a head crash or system crashes can be recovered in their entirety.

If a user experiences a data loss event or has a failed database, RAID set, Exchange or PST files or any other file type either in Virtual Block Structure, NTFS (Windows partitions) or HFS (Mac Partitions), with this new adaptation and recovery technology, CSSI can recover and reconstruct the data to its former states with all the file names, table structures, dates and fields intact as if the drive had never failed.

Reading data from defective sectors is a first and being able to reconstruct that data from a failed sector or bad area on the hard drive is a unique marvel by today's standards. The company provides data recovery services to many organisations, businesses and IT companies both locally and abroad, and has always been at the cutting-edge of high recovery yields and recovery success.

This latest data recovery development will be a significant to major value-add to many companies that support and provide assistance to entities that suffer from or experience a data loss event due to hard drive or RAID failures on SAS or SATA hard drives.
