Datacentrix has launched a new Enterprise Systems Management (ESM) business unit within its existing Enterprise Systems division, focusing on offering best of breed infrastructure management solutions to South African businesses.
According to Hein Buhrmann, divisional director of Datacentrix Enterprise Systems, Datacentrix is extremely well positioned as one of the top IT infrastructure solution providers in the local marketplace. "The move to provide infrastructure management solutions is the logical next step in growing our value proposition to our customers.
"The strategic nature of this initiative, as well as importance of the skills base for this type of offering, has led Datacentrix to appoint a completely new team to exclusively focus in this space. The Enterprise Systems Management business unit is headed up by Duncan van Jaarsveld and includes a team of engineering resources, technical consultants, and sales specialists.
"Collectively the team has vast experience in consulting, deployment and integration of enterprise management solutions covering all industry verticals. The combined experience of this team will enable Datacentrix to provide a superior solution offering and execution capability right from inception," says Buhrmann.
The ESM business unit will focus on tailor-made solutions for customers enabling effective management of their entire IT infrastructure, according to Van Jaarsveld.
Says Van Jaarsveld: "The solutions will be based on a best of breed product suite with specific focus on determining accurate requirements to enable the correct design and architecture. Making use of proven implementation methodologies will ensure the successful roll-out of projects. It`s at this point were the real value starts in terms of support and ongoing optimisation of the solution.

In turn, optimal utilisation can only be achieved through effective management of all IT resources. Van Jaarsveld maintains that there are great opportunities for the new business unit, taking into account the large number of organisations in the South African market that have not successfully implemented ESM solutions.
As HP`s largest partner in South Africa, Datacentrix will offer HP OpenView products as part of the ESM solution suite. This will allow Datacentrix to offer the entire range of products in the HP portfolio.
