JMR Consulting and Datacentrix executive director Leon Theron are to acquire the Landmark business from Datacentrix Infrastructure Optimisation (DIO), a Datacentrix subsidiary, for R3.16 million.
Datacentrix says Landmark provides a solution for the mainframe environment, while Datacentrix has a clear focus on Wintel- and Unix-based solutions.
Theron is one of the original vendors who sold the DIO business to Datacentrix. He is to resign from the Datacentrix board with immediate effect.
The purchasers are to acquire the Landmark business conducted by DIO as a going concern, effective from 1 November. The purchase price includes the customer contracts of the business as well as all the support and maintenance obligations.
All three staff members currently working with the Landmark part of DIO`s business will leave to join the new company.
Datacentrix reported operating income for the six months to August of R19.4 million, off a turnover of R255 million, up on the previous corresponding period by 24% and 25% respectively.
Headline earnings per share grew 20% to 8.4c and tangible net asset value grew 35% for the comparable period.
Technology private equity venture capital company Treacle Venture Partners recently increased its stake in Datacentrix to 18% and Treacle partner, Christoff Botha, became a non-executive director of Datacentrix.
