Dimension Data`s Asian subsidiary, Datacraft Asia, has acquired Singapore-based Multisoft for S$12.1 million, broadening its managed network service capabilities in the region.
The purchase of Multisoft, a networking systems integrator and e-business enabler, adds desktop and server management services to Datacraft`s existing remote network management services, and the group says it also enhances the Dimension Data Group`s Global Services offerings.
Dimension Data executive chairman Jeremy Ord says the purchase price is subject to a target profit after tax of S$5.4 million ($3.1 million) over 36 months.
The initial purchase price will be funded by proceeds from Datacraft`s share placement in June this year.
"Datacraft has already developed a significant region-wide business with its managed network services," says Datacraft Asia CEO Ron Cattell.
"Because Multisoft Singapore is a leading Microsoft-certified solution provider and large account reseller, the group`s Global Services Operations Centre in Singapore will have immediate access to significant local Multisoft solution provider resources and will be able to provide Microsoft-certified solutions and services to organisations in the region."
Under the acquisition agreement, Datacraft Singapore has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, Multisoft IT Solutions (MIT), which will acquire all the existing business undertakings of Multisoft Singapore as well as its inventory and some of the company`s fixed assets. All the existing employees of Multisoft Singapore will also be transferred to MIT.
Datacraft Asia now operates 61 offices in 13 countries throughout Asia Pacific.
