First-tier Internet service provider (ISP) and network integrator, DataPro, has become the first local ISP to convert its entire Internet backbone from satellite to fibre connections.
Gary Sweidan, Technical Director of DataPro, said: "Our new fibre network will place our service offerings on par with the leading International ISPs. Effectively, our standard leased-line offering will be equivalent to our oppositions` premier connectivity services - making our option far better priced. In many instances we will be up to 60% cheaper."
Commenting further, Sweidan said the company felt it was important to strategically differentiate itself from other ISPs.
"We want to offer premier services at cost-effective prices. The days of smoke and mirrors in the ISP market space are now over."
The new network, to be rolled out in phases, is expected to be fully operational by November.
