Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has appointed Datashuttle as a sub-distributor for its range of Imation storage media. Datashuttle will stock Imation`s range of media for magnetic and optical storage devices.

Nicolette Williams, Imation product specialist at DCC, says the deal will give DCC an extended reach into the local market and also benefit Datashuttle`s reseller channel.

According to Dave Kruger, channel manager at Datashuttle, the rights to Imation give its resellers a more comprehensive choice.

The range of products includes the Black Watch DLT tape cartridges with a capacity of up to 80GB. This range also includes 4mm and 8mm tapes for servers, providing 1.3GB to 20GB of native capacity. Its protective black coating protects against static electricity, impressions and scratches and improves tape winding and stacking.

The 8mm data tapes for backup are compatible with Exabyte Mammoth drives and offer up to 40GB compressed capacity for large department networks. Super DLT cartridges cater for mid-range server and storage networked environments and Travan 40GB data cartridges (20GB native) feature transfer rates of up to 4MBps for small and medium enterprises and mobile users.
