Datatec subsidiary Logicalis has acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Australian ICT services and solutions provider, Thomas Duryea.
The Johannesburg- and London-listed company did not disclose what Thomas Duryea was bought for but did confirm the acquisition will be paid in cash.
"Thomas Duryea's professional services capabilities in cloud and data centre are complementary to Logicalis Australia, allowing for a broader portfolio of ICT solutions to market," according to Datatec CEO Jens Montanana.
Thomas Duryea was established in 2000 and is a provider of data centre, cloud and Microsoft solutions and services, with operations in Melbourne and Sydney. The company has an annual turnover of approximately US$50 million (R720 million) and 125 employees.
Datatec believes the acquisition will enhance Logicalis' scale and capabilities in the Australian ICT market.
The purchase continues a recent acquisition drive by Datatec, and specifically subsidiary Logicalis, which contributes 23% of Datatec's overall revenue.
In September, the company bought Advanced Technology Integration Group, a solution provider that operates in the Midwest region of the United States, for US$42 million (R600 million).
In May, the company purchased 100% of Trovus, a UK business intelligence consultancy, for US$2.2 million (R32 million), with plans for the acquisition to strengthen Logicalis' business analytics and information management offering.
In October, Logicalis acquired Lekscom, a Channel Islands-based provider of networking and collaboration services to large enterprise and commercial clients.
Logicalis also boosted its portfolio in Germany over the past year as part of a strategy to grow its presence in Europe. This included the acquisition of German services and solutions provider Inforsacom, as well as obtaining 51% of ituma GmbH, a speciality software developer based in Germany.
