The Datatec Group - the official umbrella sponsor of Gauteng Cricket - `Pads up` for the cricket season with its regular Player of the Month awards. The awards are part of Datatec`s long and productive association and partnership with Gauteng Cricket.
The player of the month awards are given to top performers on the field, and include Rookie, Batsman, Bowler and overall Player of the Month. All SuperSport games were taken into consideration in determining the category winners.
The winners were Zander De Bruyn for Top Rookie; Daryl Cullinan for Top Batsman; David Terbrugge for Top Bowler; and the overall Player of the Month went to Nic Pothas.
In addition, each year an outstanding Gauteng cricketer is picked and highlighted for ten years` contribution to the Gauteng team. Richard Snell has been selected for the Year 2000, and through various events to be held throughout the year, will be rewarded for his ability to raise money.
Richard has played for major teams such as South Africa, Somerset, Natal and now for Gauteng.
Datatec and the Gauteng Cricket Team are entering a new and exciting millennium with expectations high for the team`s success!
