Enterprise Outsourcing who provide IT life cycle support to their clients, recently signed off yet another Y2K compliant Impact base. David Whitehead Textiles, Durban (part of the Tongaat-Hulett Group) previously operated the /3 application package.

Data/3 was found to be non-Y2K compliant, was slow and unresponsive to the operations changing needs and also did not provide adequate management information to efficiently monitor and control the processes.

Enterprise Outsourcing KZN have a strong Impact skill base, and took on the challenge of getting WHT up to speed. The implementation of Impact commenced in February 1999 with the financials and modules up and going within two months. The manufacturing modules, including MRP were implemented over the next 4 months. The opportunity to review the work process was taken and improvements in work flow were made.

WHT management are delighted with the user friendliness of Impact and say that the more timeous information provided is helping with overall control of the operation. Further opportunities within the Textiles Division include the inclusion of the Johannesburg sales office into the Enterprise Outsourcing fold, and the implementation of Impact into their UK operation.
