Dax offers near-real-time data delivery over extranets

By virtue of an exclusive distribution agreement, enterprise software and Web-enablement specialist, Dax Data, is offering the local market access to DataMirror iDeliver, a business-to-business integration solution that streamlines collaborative business processes and extends them to partners, suppliers, employees and customers across the Internet.

iDeliver software allows corporate data to be filtered and published securely over intranets, extranets or the Internet, allowing authorised business or trading partners to access it, according to Jeremy Matthews, MD of Dax Data. "The product is suitable for any business case in which data needs to be shared unidirectionally, either within an organisation or between business partners via fax, e-mail, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or other means," he adds.

"iDeliver helps to reduce transaction costs, shorten cycle times, eliminate the need for paper trails and redundant data entry, and enhance customer experiences," says Matthews.

It is possible, he explains, to even replicate employee contact information from legacy and enterprise systems to the desktops of both mobile and static workforces. "iDeliver allows data to be replicated to Microsoft Outlook and to a variety of PDAs (personal digital assistants), including PalmPilots, Windows CE devices and NeoPoint phones."

Out-of-the-box integration with databases such as DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Access is a feature, as is integration with desktop applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel. The product allows information from a wide range of diverse systems to be securely integrated and kept synchronised through near real-time replication functionality. "The iDeliver client has an integrated Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) component that allows users to execute custom or standard APIs to integrate data directly into ERP or CRM systems, as well as flow data in near real-time into any custom or standard XML format. The benefit being that it increases return on investment in existing infrastructures, and eliminates the need for private infrastructures, proprietary standards, process re-engineering and costly bespoke implementations," concludes Matthews.
