Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has announced the availability of an optional extended warranty on the Asus range of notebooks. The third-year warranty extension, available from DCC and its Asus resellers, will ensure customers` business and personal needs are taken care of for a longer period of time, extend the lifespan of the device and reduce spend.
Says Kathy Pylarinos, Asus product manager at DCC: "The extended warranty option is a natural extension of Asus` commitment to the local market. Service is a priority and it is important to provide this optional extra. Leveraging this benefit from our vendor, Asus, provides resellers with a value-add to offer to their clients."
"A notebook differs from a personal computer (PC) in that particular models feature components specifically designed for them. The diversity of notebook designs makes it increasingly difficult to replace components. However, Asus is the only notebook company that manufactures its own notebooks thus creating accessibility to parts and components that is necessary for repairs and maintenance on any model. The additional third-year optional warranty ensures customers can use an Asus notebook with the confidence that any maintenance or replacement issues will be handled promptly with minimal inconvenience and at no extra cost over and above the initial outlay for the extended warranty."
Asus offers a standard two-year global warranty, allowing notebook users to access Asus repair centres worldwide. Without a global warranty, repairs can be costly as payment may be required in foreign currency. The optional third-year warranty extension offers local repairs at no additional cost to the customer. The warranty also includes a `pick up and return` service -- a service that includes collection and return of a faulty Asus notebook from a customer`s house or office if under warranty.
The Asus notebook third-year extended warranty may be purchased through its reseller channel or any dealer that supplies Asus notebooks. The `pack` contains a user manual and CD that automatically prompts the user to activate the third-year warranty online. A sticker that may be pasted onto the notebook as proof of purchase and proof of the warranty is included in the pack. The warranty is only applicable to the purchase of new notebooks and must be activated within two weeks of the initial date of purchase to initialise the additional third-year warranty.
Says William Tsai, Asus marketing specialist: "The additional three-year warranty allows our customers to extend the life of their notebooks and reduce spend."
In the event that repairs are needed, customers can contact their resellers or call the Asus service hotline on 011-7835450. A qualified engineer will assist the user immediately. The cost of the optional third-year warranty is R949 inclusive of VAT and is available for any notebook model from Asus resellers or dealers.
