Dee Smith & Associates is very excited and proud to announce that it is adding Nairobi as a venue to deliver EPI's highly respected, globally recognised and internationally certified data centre design course - Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP).
The company strives to improve the overall level of data centre design and management knowledge across the African continent. Through its professional consulting and training services it is successful in fulfilling these objectives to the market. After its recent success in Maputo, Mozambique, it has decided to expand its course delivery even further. Its first Nairobi-based CDCP course is planned from 19-21 October 2016.
This data centre design certification course will be presented at the training facilities of Amiran Communications in Nairobi.
CDCP is the introductory course in a suite of design certification courses. It introduces delegates to the basic principles and considerations around the design and establishment of mission-critical data centres. It covers numerous disciplines such as power infrastructure, thermal management, fire suppression, labelling and site selection, to name a few. There is no prerequisite to register for this course and everybody who has an interest in or is involved in the design and overall management of a data centre is welcome to attend this event.
Course Price: USD1,600.00 per delegate
There will be a further USD100 price reduction for the first five delegates who register and pay for this training course before 22 September 2016. A minimum of ten registrations will be required before the course itself will be finally confirmed. Closing date for the registration of course delegates will be Friday, 29 September 2016, at 3pm (SAST). Class size is limited so act soon to avoid disappointment.
The course will be presented over three days and the price includes the following:
1. One English-language CDCP course manual per delegate.
2. One English language certification exam on the last day of the course.
3. Refreshments and a light lunch daily.
This an opportunity for data centre owners, operators and their employees, as well as for consultants to take advantage and attend this globally recognised and internationally accredited certification course without having to travel to another international destination.
Data centre design and data centre management has over the past decade evolved into a profession that requires formal training and development. The need for exposure to recognised data centre standards, guidelines and best practice has become self-evident due to the evolution of the data centre professional. Gone are the days where individuals must handle the complexities of a myriad of data centre components through gut feel, anticipation and trial-by-error. Annually the data centre fraternity can serve up a fair quantity of examples where mission critical environments experienced spectacular and high-impact failures and incidents resulting in unplanned downtime, loss of data, loss of productivity, revenue and reputation. The demand for accredited and certified skills within the data centre environment has grown handsomely during the past five to 10 years.
The training division of Dee Smith & Associates (DS&A) was established as a result of demand for these skills in the South African data centre market. Subsequently this demand has also come from the larger African continent. There is a quantifiable need for training and development that results in the formal recognition and accreditation of data centre design and management professionals.
Through its partnership with EPI its objective is to deliver internationally certified and accredited data centre training in Africa. It strives to expand and nurture these skills by creating sustainability and depth. Formal training in this field also provides an improved understanding of the complexity of data centre design and management. It explains the manner in which one decision or strategy can impact a myriad of other components or disciplines within the data centre environment.
DS&A focusses on education, experience and the continued evolution of data centre design and management as sciences in their own right. All of this is aligned to international best practice, standards, guidelines and trends.
Since introducing the various data centre training courses in late 2010, attendance has reached almost 500 candidates who come from a wide range of industries such as financial services, telecommunications, information technology, healthcare and product vendors and suppliers.
