Dell delivers new business notebook computers that are easy on the budget

Latitude D505 features new Intel Celeron M processor and choice of display size
Johannesburg, 16 Jan 2004

Dell today announced the launch of the latest member of the Latitude D-Family, the Latitude D505. This new thin and light notebook offers performance and mobility at great value, incorporating the Intel Pentium M or the new Celeron M processors, a choice of 14.1- or 15-inch displays and integrated WiFi wireless.

The Dell Latitude D505 notebook, starts at R11 420 (1) including VAT and delivery with Intel`s new Celeron M processor and WiFi capability, has a starting weight of just 2.28kg (2) and is equipped to power mobile users through daily essential productivity tasks like e-mail, word processing and common business applications.

Dell business and education customers consulted in the development of the D-Family notebooks provided feedback affecting their usability, features and form factors. This continued focus on product leadership has contributed to Dell being ranked number one for 22 consecutive quarters in the Technology Business Research`s Notebook Customer Satisfaction Report.

As well as incorporating great value, the Latitude D505 still offers D-Family performance and enhanced connectivity, including integrated 802.11 WiFi capability, 10/100 Ethernet, 56K modem, USB 2.0 and optional Bluetooth.

The Latitude D505 shares the same intuitive and innovatively designed D/Port and D/View stand along with other products in the Latitude D-Family notebook portfolio. Designed for budget-conscious business and education customers with a networked environment, it provides true mobility without sacrificing reliability, flexibility or performance.

The Latitude D505 can be configured with an Intel Celeron M processor or a Pentium M processor, choice of 14.1- or 15-inch XGA displays and Intel`s PRO Wireless 2100 (802.11b). Customers can configure systems with Intel`s Centrino Mobile Technology, with an Intel Pentium M processor, 855GME chipset and Intel`s PRO Wireless 2100. They can also choose Dell`s TrueMobile 1300 (802.11b/g) or TrueMobile 1400 (802.11a/b/g) wireless solutions.

Dell offers a single point of accountability for deployment services to support its latest portfolio of Latitude products, which can help save time and effort and a business`s overall total cost of ownership, allowing customers to focus IT resources on more strategic projects.
