Dell delivers with new high performance desktop

Dell, the world`s leading direct computer systems company, has released a powerful new desktop PC, featuring the Intel 820 chipset and Rambus memory technology.

The OptiPlex GX200 delivers the high performance and increased of RDRAM in a small form factor chassis. Starting at R11 490-00 excluding VAT and delivery, the OptiPlex GX200 is Dell`s second OptiPlex desktop PC based on the Intel 820 chipset and RAMBUS Dynamic RAM (RDRAM). The base configuration above includes an Intel Pentium III processor at 600EB MHz, 128 MB RDRAM, 10 GB hard drive, integrated 8 MB nVIDIA TNT2 M64 Pro 4X AGP graphics, integrated 3COM 10/100 networking, integrated AC97audio, 1.44MB floppy disk drive, Windows 9x, and a 15" Monitor.

Standard features include Intel Pentium III processors, from 600EB to 866 MHz, with 256KB Advanced Transfer Cache; 133MHz front-side bus up to 512Mb of PC700 or PC800 RDRAM; and EIDE ATA-66 hard drives or Ultra/160 SCSI hard drives. The new desktop also has up to 16MB of RAM integrated into the 4X Advanced Graphics Port (AGP), which enables exceptional graphics performance and visual quality for today`s multi-media and web-based applications.

The OptiPlex GX200 provides flexibility and outstanding serviceability in four system configurations - mini-tower, medium and low-profile desktops, and the small form factor desktop. These share a common systemboard, which allows customers to use identical images across all four configurations. Based on the award-winning OptiFrame chassis, the OptiPlex GX200 systems feature tool-less entry for quick disassembly and reassembly.

All OptiPlex systems come with a standard three-year service offering with next-business-day on-site service.

The OptiPlex systems are built for manageability using Dell`s OpenManage technology. Dell OpenManage provides capabilities such as:

  • Wired for Management (WfM) 2.0 (with Web-based enterprise management (WBEM) support)

  • Desktop Management Interface (DMI) 2.0s

  • Enhanced SMART II technology

  • Asset Information

  • Remote boot with multiple protocols support

  • Remote system wake-up

  • System event alerting
