Dell develops Android gadget
Dell is developing a pocket-size Internet device using Google's Android operating system that could take on Apple's iPod Touch, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal, reports CNET News.
Two people who have seen early prototypes of the device told the newspaper it looks like Apple's iPod Touch but slightly larger.
And like the iPod Touch, the device isn't expected to include a cellular phone.
HP offers iPhone calculator app
The HP calculator enthusiast community has long had calculator emulators running on the PC, says EDN.
Now HP itself has entered the market with offerings running on PCs and Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch.
“We just felt that HP calculator emulators should really come from HP,” says HP's director of calculator product development, Sam Kim.
RealPlayer enhances media playback software
Real Networks has unveiled the twelfth iteration of its RealPlayer media playback software, states CNET News.
Dubbed 'RealPlayer SP', the new RealPlayer includes version 11's capability to grab Flash-based videos from any Web browser.
The upgrade includes the capability to easily transcode and transfer those videos to a wide array of portable devices, including many BlackBerry phones, the Zune, and via iTunes, the iPod and iPhone.
