Dell drives the cloud
Dell has overhauled its cloud computing strategy, offering turnkey solutions for cloud providers and revealed its new partners including Ubuntu company and Canonical, reports Network World.
Dell is also set to offer a range of servers, designed to be used in data centres or in cloud computing deployments, as well as a set of storage products.
The company is working with cloud computing provider Joyent to deliver the service, while partnerships with Aster and Greenplum will address the demand in data analytics and data warehousing.
SanDisk unveils 32GB memory card
SanDisk has introduced a 32GB removable flash memory card for mobile phones, states Information Week.
"This is the highest capacity card of its type, and SanDisk is pleased to be the first to ship such an advanced product," says Sanjay Mehrotra, president and CEO of SanDisk.
Shipments of mobile phones equipped with removable memory cards are expected to reach 1.04 billion phones next year from 592 million in 2007, according to market research firm Strategy Analytics.
Toshiba rolls out slim hard drive
Toshiba's storage division has unveiled its compact 2.5-inch 750GB hard drive, says V3.co.uk.
The MK7559GSXP is designed for PCs and laptops where space is a premium.
Toshiba believes that high storage capacity, speed and reliability make the drives a potential player in the set-top box and personal video recorder markets.
