When Dell customers order a notebook or desktop computer online at dell.co.za, over the phone, or face-to-face and choose Microsoft Windows XP as their operating system, a more reliable, fun and easier computing experience is just a few delivery-days away.
Dell, as one of Microsoft`s international partners, has joined Microsoft in launches around the world to support the introduction of the Windows XP operating system. These events represent the culmination of thousands of hours of collaboration between the companies to ensure the new operating system runs at its optimum on Dell computers, providing customers with the ultimate computing experience.
Combined with Dell`s personal computing platforms featuring Intel Pentium 4 processor technology, the increased functionality of Windows XP provides both business and home users with a revolutionary computing experience. According to Leigh Hancock, product-marketing manager at Dell SA, local customers are able to benefit from increased computing power, lowered cost-of-ownership, enhanced support and a new visual desktop design, that is clean, simple and functional.
For consumers, Windows XP also delivers advanced capabilities for communications, digital entertainment, remote support and wireless connectivity. Hancock believes business users will be attracted to the increased performance and stability of Windows XP.
"Whether you are an executive, mother, student, hobbyist, business owner, engineer or game enthusiast, Dell personal computing systems with Windows XP will enhance your computing experience."
Hancock adds that Windows XP Home Edition users will be able to quickly download, share and print photos, customise music CDs and have video chats over the Internet. "Windows XP Professional provides business users with enhanced stability and power, which means less time spent dealing with IT issues and more time taking care of business."
Windows XP is available initially on most of Dell`s machines, with availability on the Latitude C610 and Inspiron 4100 due for release in the near future.
