Dell power adapter powers and recharges notebooks anytime, anywhere

Johannesburg, 07 Jan 2004

Dell today announced a combination power adapter which enables mobile users to power up and/or recharge their Dell notebooks at a desk, in a car or on an aeroplane.

Weighing a travel-friendly 537.22 grams, the Dell combination adapter is compatible with all Latitude D-Family notebooks, Latitude X300, most Inspiron notebooks and the Dell Precision M60 mobile workstation (1).

The Dell all-in-one power adapter, costing R780 (incl VAT), is the only AC/DC adapter that powers and charges a battery when connected to a Dell notebook, regardless of the power source. The 65W combination adapter also supports Dell`s ExpressCharge technology, which enables the notebook to recharge batteries to 80% capacity in about an hour.

Customers can configure new Dell notebooks with the combination power adapter at time of purchase or order one for most existing notebooks. The adapter also connects to an optional peripheral powering system that recharges peripherals such as the Dell Axim and many other handhelds and cellphones. The availability of these peripheral charging accessories will vary by region.

(1) Supports all the Latitude D-Family notebooks: D400, D500, D600, D800, X300, as well as the Inspiron 500M, 600M, 8500, 8600, 300M and Dell Precision M60.
