Dell promotes IT
PC and notebook maker Dell Malaysia aims to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) become more competitive by using technology as one of the forefronts and information as a core part of their business, states Malaysia Star.
GM Pang Yee Beng said a majority of Dell's SME customers were aware that the use of IT was important and could help grow their business in a more efficient way.
"One of Dell's initiatives is to aid SMEs to adopt IT and to make sure people read more about successful stories of SMEs adopting IT to become more competitive," he said.
Avaya helps SMEs
Communications vendor Avaya is extending its 0% finance scheme to encourage SME take-up of its latest software, which features a new telecommuter mode, giving users access to their office system anywhere in the world by using a basic Internet connection, says VNUNet.
Avaya's latest finance offer is targeted at firms leasing the Avaya SME solution, including the IP Office500 with VoiceMail Pro messaging.
Payments will be spread over a two-year period with 0% interest. At the end of the term, the customer can, for a nominal amount, continue to use the equipment, return it or refresh it.
Ingram extends IBM range
Ingram Micro's Infrastructure Technology Solutions (ITS) division is now selling and supporting the complete line of IBM System Storage N series hardware, software and solutions for SMEs, reports FOX News.
According to Ingram Micro's VP of vendor management Scott Zahl, the IBM N series boasts a solid line of flexible storage solutions that unify NAS, Fibre Channel and iSCSI SAN storage in a single platform. This is for partners who are focused on the data centre infrastructure needs of SMEs.
IBM turned to Ingram Micro's ITS division to extend its reach and help more solution providers service and support the growing SME market segment.
